  • ATTENTION MIGRANT PARENTS!
    The dates for the 2012 Region MPAC Meetings have been set.  A Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided, as well as Childcare! Spanish and English Invites.

  • Kansas OSY Advocacy Project
    Based out of the Northwest ID&R Service Center, this new OSY Advocacy Program will:
    a) provide OSY migrant youth support services required by the unique demands of their migrant lifestyle
    b) collaborate with supporting agencies to provide essential services
    c) blend local and statewide perspectives into a substantial and resourceful system of OSY migrant support, and
    d) provide year-round recruitment of OSY in the State. 
    The new proposal will fulfill State and federal regulations while ensuring all qualifying OSY migrant youth are not only provided needed services but also identified and recruited.
  • The June 2011 Harvest of Hope Leadership Academy is now accepting student applications for admission.  2010-2011 8th through 11th grade students who are now currently Migrant or Continuation of Service are eligible to apply.  The application can be viewed and printed from the following website location.

  • Agricultural Newsletter – This newsletter has been created to inform MEP Staff across the country of trends, current research and agricultural news that can potentially effect where migrants come and go to work.  This can affect all eligible migrant students ages 3 – 21, including out-of-school youth.  It is important to utilize this information in order to track in a proactive manner where OSY may be moving and working.
  • FREE LUNCHES FOR MIGRANT CHILDREN!  This is a reminder to ALL Migrant Directors & Data Clerks that migrant children are “categorically eligible” to receive free school meals once the district Migrant Education Program provides documentation of migrant children to the School Nutrition Program.  Click here for a detailed memo from the State Department.
